Habitat: Found in areas described as either gently sloping or steep, dry or mesic, open or shaded, shallow or deep soils, and disturbed by man or nature. In some instances it appears weedy, a true pioneer in the most rugged of terrain. Typically found on rocky, open ground.

Flowering Date : June - July

Fruiting Date : June - August

Causes for Concern: Streptanthus squamiformis is restricted to a narrow portion of the Ouachita Mountains.

Global Range: Ouachita Mountains of southwestern Arkansas and southeastern Oklahoma (McCurtain County).
