Habitat: A "prairie slash" woodland in the Grand Prairie area of Arkansas.

Causes for Concern: Stern's medlar is restricted to a single locality (a rare "prairie slash" woodland) in the Grand Prairie Region of the Mississippi Alluvial Plain in eastern Arkansas. There are only 24 individuals known. The population has only produced fruit once in the last 14 years and there are no records of successful sexual reproduction of the species. It may be further threatened by alteration of the hydrology at the site.

Global Range: A single site in Prairie County, Arkansas.
