Stewardship
Fernwood Seep Natural Area
Once an area is dedicated as a natural area, staff from the Stewardship section work to maintain the unique characteristics of that area. Since natural areas are so varied, encompassing a wide array of natural communities, management of these areas can be equally complex. The goals of natural area stewardship are to restore and enhance conditions for rare species and to maintain the ecological integrity of these high-quality natural communities.
